Solution

Kelly George's theory of personality has considered people as scientists in the explanatory context rather than real scientists. The model he was proposed was based on the analogy of a person as a scientist. In other words, he has resembled the cognitive thought process of people with procedures adopted by the scientist to reach about the set goal. I agree with the concept to some extent. Therefore, here I present the critical review of this postulate from different aspects.

1.      Human Behavior and Organizing Knowledge

Kelly’s postulate that human behavior is consistent with prevailing perceptions that help to organize knowledge but failed to cover the issues of motivation, developmental influences, and cultural forces that limit his theory's ability to explain the concept of complexity of personality. On this criterion, the theory must be awarded a low rate.

2.Guide to Action

We also rate the concept with the low grade as failed to provide “Guide to action”. Meaning that therapeutic practice heavily based on common sense and varies from patient to patient. This existing disparity proved the lack of a guide to action.

NNo Operational Definition of Used Terms

Kelly has used terms in very elegant and precise ways in explaining his theory. But his theory falls short of describing the operational meaning of these terms.

4.Verification or falsification

The theory is not a self-explanatory the element of verification or falsification is not describable by the postulate itself although the theory has been written with a lot of carefulness.
