A passenger was died in China with completely different virus, called Hantavirus, while travelling to Shandong Province for work in chartered bus with 32 others when examined for covid-19-another fatal one with similar symptoms-According to run-state-Media Global Times announcement  via tweet on Monday.

The unknown victim is belong Yunnan Province. Further there is silence on other 32 passengers of the same bus.

The recent emergence of Hantavirus as China just began lifting strict Quarantine from novel coronavirus that covid-19, become the cause of ramp up panic among the people at social media as #Hantavirus viral trending scene.

Why do Experts say Hantavirus is unlike covid-19?

Often experts come up with prompt response on this trending virus news that it is not the new one, it has previous history but it rarely passed on between the humans.

“The risk of getting infected with a hantavirus in Canada or in other parts of the world is low”, Global Times reported as told him by the spokesperson of Public Health Agency of Canada.  Family of virus does not affect humans through the act of contact, said spokesperson.

The symptoms of Hantavirus look alike to coronavirus, as stated above. The symptoms like fever, muscles aches, coughing, nausea and vomiting are considered signals. Some people may suffer from sever or life-threatening signals. Usually six weeks are needed to appear symptoms after its exposure.

Hantavirus Treatment and Precautions

“There is no specific treatment, cure, or vaccine for hantavirus infection,” the CDC warned, saying critical patients need extra care to “help them through the period of severe respiratory distress.”

The patients like old adult or facing severe diseases like hearts, Kidneys etc call for intensive care if infected with Hantaviruses.

Clean the places where rodents (mice/rats) have dropped their droppings, or saliva of infected rodents.

“If you have been around rodents and have symptom of fever, deep muscle aches, and severe shortness of breath, see your doctor immediately,” the CDS stressed

How long Hantavirus remains infectious in the atmosphere varies based on factors such as temperature, humidity, rodent’s diet, and indoors and outdoors. Usually it remains active for two to three days at normal room temperature, while it survives for only few hours under the direct sunlight.

Hantavirus vaccine development is in Clinical Stage 3 as of 2016.

History

The name for the other Hantaviruses family is “Old World” is mostly discovered in Europe and Asia and may cause Hemorrhagic fever with renal Syndrome (HFRS).

In America “Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome “ was notice at national level in 1995, but no cases were found transmitted human to human, said health group. The 738 numbers of cases hunted by Hantaviruses have been recorded from January 1993 to January 2017.

It has been reported in North America in 1993, but numbers of cases in Canada are seems three per year, while in USA the number is approximately 35 per annum, said Ontario Ministry of Health.
